Next Sunday, July 19th we will be welcoming into membership these members of the Confirmation Class: Emily Brown and Hallie Fagan. On Sunday, August 2nd we will be welcoming Will Richart and Oliver Umpleby. They have done a fantastic job of learning, serving in mission, and reflecting on their relationship with God. Rev. Josh Heikkila, our mission partner in Ghana, will also be taking part in the service on July 19th. There will be a light reception after each of the service

We are very pleased to announce that Rev. Scott Hill will serve as our pastor and head-of-staff from June 15 – September 15. He retired earlier this year as the pastor of Aspinwall Presbyterian Church, and, like many pastors, he does not seem to hold tightly to the notion of retirement! Calvin will not be hosting VBS this summer. Please join Plains Presbyterian Church in Cranberry Township for their Rainforest Falls themed VBS from July 20th — July 25th from 6:30 — 8:30 p.m. Step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a life-long adventure, discovering the nature of God, and exploring what it means to be rooted

This group allows all participants to celebrate, lament, discuss, and share thoughts on current events, history, culture, and trends in a safe place, where we can respectfully share, agree, or disagree, in a supportive mutual spirit of Christian witness. They will be taking a break for the summer and will not meet during June, July and August. They will resume meeting in the fall beginning in September. Jake Pieszak, Calvin member, is the 2026 Young Composer Contest Winner of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic. Jake, now in his freshman year as an engineering major at the University of Cincinnati, has played his violin for solos in our services several times in recent years. His winning composition, "The Village and the Hero's Last Stand” will be performed by the Pittsburgh Philharmonic at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center. Jake will be in attendance.
