Jake Pieszak, Calvin member, is the 2026 Young Composer Contest Winner of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic. Jake, now in his freshman year as an engineering major at the University of Cincinnati, has played his violin for solos in our services several times in recent years. His winning composition, "The Village and the Hero's Last Stand” will be performed by the Pittsburgh Philharmonic at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center. Jake will be in attendance.

What are paraments? They are the ornamental ecclesiastical hangings that change with the worship calendar. We are in Lent (purple) currently, and will be changing to Easter (white). The parament committee could use a few more workers. We change the paraments 7 times per year.
