YOUTH EDUCATION

Sunday School

Calvin Presbyterian Church offers youth education every Sunday morning during the regular school year for ages 5 and up from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Our team of lay leaders conducts classes using a curriculum that combines Bible study, discussion, and arts and crafts.

Vacation Bible School

Calvin offers a free VBS program for one week every summer. Five days of fun with games, crafts, learning, and songs! This program is open to the entire community. The theme and dates change each year so be sure to check our events calendar to find out when our next VBS program will be!

Youth Group

Calvin Youth Groups meet on Sunday evenings in Fellowship Hall during the school year

  • CWG - Connect With God - Bible Study 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • CYG – grades 7-12 @ 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Thank you for being a part of the Youth Ministry at Calvin Church. Below you will find two sections, the first is for clearances and the second for mandatory reporting training. All volunteers must provide proof of completing both sections. If you have up to date clearances for another volunteer position or employment you may submit copies. If you have gone through a mandatory reporting training for another volunteer position or employment you may submit copies.

Clearances

 

In accordance with PA State laws, volunteers who who have contact with minors must have approved clearances. If you need to obtain copies, Calvin Church will cover the cost.

 

All prospective volunteers must obtain and turn in copies to the Church Office the following clearances:

  1. Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP)

  2. Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse)

  3. FBI Fingerprinting IF you have lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.

Mandatory Reporting Training

 

If you have not gone through a mandatory reporting training, please complete the following training:

 

  1. The University of Pittsburgh’s Child Welfare Resource Center this is a free, web-based training, you will need to register as a new user. Please provide a copy of the certificate of course completion to the Assistant Director of Youth and Families.
