Without Reservations is a mission of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, PA. Its purpose is to build, share, and support caring relationships with the Lakota Sioux Nation as we find them represented in the town of Wanblee, South Dakota located on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
…Glen Sanders was asked if there was anything more that the Lakota people needed. …He was told they need bicycles.
With its beginnings as a bike mission, we have been providing refurbished bicycles to the residents of Wanblee since 2017. In addition to delivering bicycles we are looking to help Wanblee have the means to make repairs throughout the year through their own onsite repair shop and by training residents in bicycle mechanics.
The desire to support the the mission of Eagle Nest Butte Children’s Center in the town of Wanblee is a developing emphasis.
Without Reservations also is beginning to expand this mission at home by repairing and providing bicycles to local communities. Work is underway to create a bicycle repair shop on Calvin Church property in Faith House. This will allow church and community members to take part in this mission of providing bicycles to the Lakota people as well as people more locally.
