Summer Pastor for Calvin Church

We are very pleased to announce that Rev. Scott Hill will serve as our pastor and head-of-staff from June 15 – September 15. He retired earlier this year as the pastor of Aspinwall Presbyterian Church, and, like many pastors, he does not seem to hold tightly to the notion of retirement!

Scott was born and raised as a Presbyterian in Milwaukee and received a BS in biochemistry from Michigan State University. He served the church as a teacher in Egypt and Morocco, attended San Francisco Theological Seminary, and has served Presbyterian churches in Ithaca, NY; Kankakee, IL; Corydon, Columbus and Martinsville, IN; and, from 2016 to 2026, Aspinwall. He and his wife, Candace, were married in Fox Chapel in 1999 and plan to stay in Pittsburgh in retirement, close to family. They live in Oakmont with their dog, Hopper. Scott loves the woods and became a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist in 2025. He leads nature walks in local parks, contributes to citizen science projects and helps maintain trails and forests.
