Armstrong Concert at Calvin
Dr. Robert Armstrong will return to Calvin Church on Sunday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m., presenting a piano concert including works by Bach, Beethoven, and Dello Joio. Donations will be accepted to benefit the artist.
Dr. Armstrong is a professional musician and pianist living in the Pittsburgh Area. He works as music director at both New Hope Lutheran Church in Freedom, PA, and Christ Lutheran Church in Baden. He is also a piano instructor at Brighton Music Center in New Brighton and performs throughout the area as a concert pianist, musical theatre director, and freelance accompanist. Dr. Armstrong attended Bethany College where he was graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music as a piano major and where he received the Rush Carter Award for outstanding senior music major as well as the honor of distinction on his senior comprehensive examinations. He then attended West Virginia University where he was graduated with Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in classical piano performance. In 2012, his book, The Development of the Baroque Solo Keyboard Suite: An Historical Survey focusing on France, England, and Germany, was published by Lambert Academic Publishing and distributed worldwide through Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
