Announcements of Week of May 4th, 2008 Morning Circle: meets at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8th. Our homework is to read Chapter 1 of Jonah and Chapter 1 of Ruth. Nellie Smyth will lead our discussion of Chapter 2 of our study book. Jane Smith will talk to us about a Mission Project and Mary Anderson will tell us more about the Least Coin. Dr. Standish is away this morning. Recycle Those Bulletins: As an initiative from our new Green Team, we are now recycling all bulletins and other office paper. At all exits from the sanctuary you will find recycling bins. If you plan to take your bulletin home, please do. But if you do not plan to take them home, or portions of them home, please place your used bulletins in the recycling bins as you leave. Mosquito Nets for Africa: Each year in sub-Saharan Africa malaria causes one million deaths-most of those being children under 5 and pregnant women. Using insecticide-treated mosquito nets, coupled with malaria prevention education, has been shown to significantly reduce these tragic statistics. You say How can I help??? The Mother's Day mission activity will be offered again in 2008. Working together, International Health Ministries and Presbyterian Women make attractive Mother's Day cards available. For a donation of $10.00 you provide education against malaria and one net to a women or child in need. Please see Judy Kercovich or Kathy Efaw to receive a card. 2008 Church Directory: Copies of the church membership directory for 2008 are available to be picked up on the literature table in the narthex outside the sanctuary. Virtual Bookstore—A New Addition to Our Website: Recently we created, in conjunction with Cokesbury Books, a virtual bookstore on our website. It is a link to Cokesbury’s website, and allows you to purchase books recommended by our staff and small group ministry at a 20% discount. You’ll find there the latest books that our small groups are using, books recommended for spiritual growth from Bruce Smith, Connie Frierson, and Graham Standish, as well as books written or contributed to by Graham Standish. All it takes to find it is to go to www.calvinchurchzelie.org, and click on the Virtual Bookstore icon. Flower Schedule: If you would like to provide flowers for Sunday morning services please sign your name to the sign up sheet located on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall or email Michelle at the church, at mshepler@zoominternet.net. Singles Café Bible Study: The Singles Café Bible Study meets on Sunday evenings at Calvin Church, in the conference room, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Please bring a Bible, paper and pen.
