Dr. N. Graham Standish Pastor Back to top	E-mail: NGStandish@zoominternet.net Dr. N. Graham Standish is the pastor of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, Pennsylvania. Calvin Church is a church community that is trying to be intentionally open to God's guidance through prayer and spirituality in all things. His latest book,*Becoming a Blessed Church* ,released in 2005 by the Alban Institute, is a guide to forming a church in Spiritual Purpose, Presence, and Power. His other books are ,*Discovering the Narrow Path,* *Paradoxes for Living, released January 2001 by Westminster/John Knox Press, and Forming Faith in a Hurricane*, published by Upper Room Books. He is a teacher, retreat leader, spiritual director, and has a background in individual, marital, and family therapy. He has a Ph.D. in formative spirituality from Duquesne University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He is also husband of Diane, the father of Erin and Shea, twin girls, and of Hobbes, the trusty Bichon Frise. Standish Inkwell Books Sermons
Rev. Dr. Stephen Polley Pastor of Pastor Care Back to top	Rev. Dr. Stephen Polley as our Pastor of Pastoral Care. Steve helps us with one of our biggest needs in the church: visiting the homebound and those in need. One of the realities is that as we have grown, so have the pastoral needs of the church. Dr. Polley brings a depth of experience and variety of gifts to Calvin Church. He was the Executive Presbyter of Beaver-Butler Presbytery for 12 years, and the Senior Pastor of Northmont Presbyterian Church in the North Hills for 27 years. Steve is also a long-time resident of Zelienople, and his wife, Betty has been a member and friend of Calvin Presbyterian Church for over 18 years. As Pastor of Pastoral Care, he shares the pastoral ministry with Dr. Standish.
Connie Frierson Program Director	Email address: frierson525@earthlink.net Connie Frierson is the Program Director and Seminary Intern. She is involved in Worship, Children’s Christian Education, Adult Education and Small groups. Connie is studying at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in the Masters of Divinity Program and is an Inquirer for with the Beaver-Butler Presbytery. Prior to studying for this second career of ministry, Connie was an attorney in Las Vegas, NV, and Columbus, OH She has a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University and a Bachelor of Arts from Indians University of Pennsylvania. She was married to Allen Frierson, but is now widowed. Connie lives with her two sons, Nate and March on the family farm with four hopeful but outdoor cats and a collie, named Major.
Michelle Shepler Staff Secretary Back to top	E-mail: mshepler@zoominternet.net Michelle Shepler has served as the Secretary and Treasurer of Calvin Presbyterian Church since 1997 and loves her work. She grew up in Connelsville, Pennsylvania as a member of the Disciples of Christ Church. She became a member of Calvin Church in 1999. She is married to David and has a son named John and a daughter Krista.
Bruce Smith Director of Music /Youth Director Back to top	Bruce's email: brucesmith@zoominternet.net Bruce Smith has been the Director of Music at Calvin Church since 1982. During this time the program has grown to include musical theater, and special artist concerts and events. Bruce is a professional pianist who also directs and performs with other musical groups for a variety of events, particularly in jazz and big band styles. Bruce has been the Youth Director at Calvin Church since 1994. During this time the Calvin Youth Group (CYG) has become active in both regional and national youth events, summer mission trips, and local Presbytery and interdenominational events. The program has grown to include three distinct age-based groups, covering youth from grades 5 to 12. In addition to his full-time role in the Calvin Church ministry team, Bruce is a post-secondary educational evaluator for a national accrediting agency (ACCET). He has also been a Calvin elder.
Toni Schlemmer Director of Drama/assoc. Director of Music Back to top	E-mail: Toni.M.Schlemmer@gsk.com Toni came to Calvin in 1986 (at Bruce's request - they've been friends since the seventh grade!) as the Associate Director of Music - conducting the Youth Choir and serving as organist, and conducting the choir. The Drama ministry at Calvin was born in the late 1980's when the church performed an original Passion Play. As the program grew, the church created the position of Director of Drama and Toni has been functioning in that role since 1996. She is also has been an elder at Calvin Church. Toni is a graduate of Riverside High School, and holds a B.A. in Music Ed. from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia. She has held teaching positions in Randolph County, WV and Beaver County, PA. In addition to directing and performing in the musical productions at Calvin Church, Toni has performed in many regional and community theatres. She has also performed professionally with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Musical Theatre, and Brockett Productions. Toni is currently employed full-time in the Information Technology Department at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare overseeing their technology training. Recently married, Toni and her husband, Brendon Wahlberg reside in Bellevue. She has also been a Calvin elder.
Abbie Hoffman Assistant Youth Director Back to top	Abbie Hoffman is the new assistant youth director at Calvin Church. She is from Zelienople and is a 2006 graduate from Seneca Valley Senior High School. Abbie traveled with a Christian band from August 2006-August 2007. She has been involved with singing her whole life. Right now Abbie is also attending Butler County Community College and is majoring in Psychology. She really enjoys being around people and getting to know them. Introduce yourself to her; she will be happy to speak with you.
